On Saturday, October 14th, about a dozen brave or foolhardy UTOCers got up in the morning and made their ways to Woodbine Beach. Braving air temperatures of around 10ºC and a brisk wind, we got into our bathing suits and waited for our cue. Shivering on the shore, we listened to Mikhail tell a story, complete with prompts to tell us when to RUN INTO THE LAKE! Upon our exit after the third such prompt, we were very grateful when the story reached its conclusion and we were able to put on our towels, get dressed, and drink some hot chocolate. One or two people even decided to run in once more for good measure! Many people had never done a polar bear swim before, but it seemed that a good time was had by all.
