UTOC x UofG Cabin Trip (Snow Squall Edition)

There truly are some some amazing and pleasant weekends to go up to the cabin. This was not one of them! Looking at the weather on Thursday night, I was having serious doubts about continuing with the trip. The forecast was saying we would have huge snow squalls Friday afternoon. After carefully thinking it over, we decided to go for it anyways. The weather report was spot on; there was a crazy amount of snow leading up to Gray County. We had some trouble parking at the cabin, though we were graciously allowed to park at a property down the road and had to haul our groceries up to the cabin from the road. Everyone made it there safe and sound.

For many it was their first time at the cabin. For some it was their first time seeing so much snow. We went to the lookout to take in the view of the county draped in fresh snow from the night before. Afterwards we split into smaller groups where some people explored the caves and others went on a nice winter hike.

On Saturday night, we played werewolf and recounted our love for "Joesph". Kat decided to kill Sheriff Ralitza just to try and seize power for herself! Dinner was warm and our laughs hearty.

Leaving the cabin on Sunday was as difficult as arriving. Some of the cars were stuck in the snow. We made incremental progress by laying down rubber mats, but then our guardian angel, the canuck with the truck, Steve arrived out of nowhere to help us out of our predicament. We successfully got everyone out of the parking lot and back on the road.

What started off as a potentially treacherous trek to the cabin ended up being a great weekend with some beautiful people. UofG is welcome back any time!
